The Master of Advanced Studies program in Media and Communication at UBIS gives preference to students with significant working experience, and requires the successful completion of 18 courses, plus a thesis, comprising 540 contact hours over 15 months.
For the Master of Advanced Studies in Media and Communication, one course requires in-class attendance of 3 hours per week plus the appropriate amount of homework and other assignments.
Graduates from the UBIS Master of Advance Studies in Media & Communication will have acquired vision and skill to develop and manage communications media. M&C Masters graduates will be ready to work as developers, managers, consultants and professionals in international organizations, national public administrations, private for-profit companies, as well as civil society non-profit organizations, foundations and associations.
The practical skills and knowledge they gain through their graduate studies comprise the ability to manage multi-dimensional formats of communications that include conceptual activities such as developing awareness-raising campaigns, overseeing projects, or looking after the design, development, dissemination and promotion of auditory and visual media productions an all traditional and electronic formats. These practical skills include:

concise written communications (reports, PR, promotional material, etc.)

qualitative and quantitative analysis (performance measurement, criteria design and evaluation)

UBIS MAS graduates will understand the importance of:

economic, social, and demographic impacts upon both private and public sector public relations and communications divisions or departments

In addition, UBIS MAS graduates will be capable of the following:
Employment: Apply for executive positions in international and multilateral corporations, public office, mid-level managerial posts, as well as positions of responsibility in NGOs, and in public administration.
Conceptual work: Develop consultancy or production projects, design financial plans, organize and oversee the work of teams, lay out and present research-based studies, or develop a visibility campaign to attract and retain the attention of target audiences, such as customers, stakeholders, donors or public supporters.
Critical Thinking: Demonstrate acute perception, discernment in professional performance, and an understanding of how to analyze information, prepare reports, document relevant information to address a problem, and evaluate critical issues when making decisions.
Ethical Reasoning: Recognize the values of others while maintaining personal integrity to act ethically and professionally in all endeavours. In addition, UBIS graduates have a strong sense for the importance of sustainability thinking.
Diversity and Cross-Cultural Communication: By virtue of their studies being within an International University and focussed on communications methods and techniques, graduates will have learned to interact within the international environment where inter-personal skills are of prime importance. In this respect, graduates will know how to interact within a wide variety of cultural, political, business and economic contexts.
