The UBIS Geneva 1st Annual Student-Faculty Volleyball Tournament & Picnic Print E-mail

The UBIS Geneva 1st Annual Student-Faculty Volleyball Tournament & Picnic was held on July 28th 2006 at the park at Vessy.

The student team consisted of Romain Pithion, Patrick Gerber, Andrei & Mo.
The faculty team was anchored by Profs. Urech, Röhrich, Bird, and Gloria (the Hammer) Grigorova.

It looked like the faculty was going to win as they took 3 straight points to arrive at match point of 10-9 position. However, the match point serve was long and the students then took the serve and won 3 straight points to finish at 12-10.
It was a hard fought match and the faculty has vowed to win next year.

Cheering on the teams were Prof. Heptonstall, Dr. Jenny-Alexander and Prof. Mallot.

Adam served as the referee.

Subsequent games were played until the weather turned ugly, and everyone adjourned to the clubhouse to enjoy meatballs, potato salad, tacos, and beer.

A good time was had by all.
