Congratulations, you’ve taken the first step towards obtaining your degree, opening doors to the professional world and your future. We are thrilled that you are considering applying to the University of Business and International Studies – UBIS Geneva.

Our review process, allows us to look at applications from an individualized perspective, taking into consideration any previous studies or work experience, to better evaluate your qualifications. UBIS INTAKES

Our normal academic year runs from the end of August (Module E) through the end of April (Module B) and consists of 4 8-week modules (E, F, A & B), or 2 semesters. However, it is possible to apply, be accepted and start in any module (A,B,C,D,E, or F)*. This applies to both on-ground and on-line studies. Transfer students or those looking to study part time may start in any module, as desired.

GENERAL ADMISSIONS CRITERIA FOR UBIS PROGRAMS

Undergraduate Applicants: What previous studies do I need to have for undergraduate entry?
UBIS undergraduate “bachelor’s degree” is open to students who have successfully completed a twelve-year US high school program or its international equivalent. UBIS has three 16-week semesters per year. Each semester is divided into two 8-week modules.

Graduate Applicants: What previous studies do I need to have for graduate entry?
Graduate candidates must have the equivalent of a 4-year American bachelor’s degree or have completed a diploma with a minimum of 180 ECTS credits in their program of study from their home country, and have taken the necessary prerequisite courses for the Masters program of their choice. If this is not the case, students may be required to take courses in any areas that they are missing before being allowed to take certain graduate level courses. UBIS has three 16-week semesters per year. Each semester is divided into two 8-week modules.

Transfer Applicants: Can I transfer from another university to UBIS?
UBIS welcomes students who wish to continue their studies by transferring to our university. UBIS has three 16-week semesters per year and offers students 6 entry date per year- more flexibility in starting your studies. As a transfer student, you can start your studies in any of these six entry dates. Please note, transfer credits are never evaluated without receipt of the student’s full application form and all supporting documentation.

General Credit Transfer Guidelines:

Undergraduate students: As a rule, UBIS accepts grades of C or higher for transfer credits for undergraduate studies. The maximum number of credits that can be transferred to UBIS for undergraduate studies is 90 (30 3-credit courses) semester hours. Transfer credits are only granted when they apply to the student’s actual intended program of study.

Graduate students: As a rule, UBIS accepts grades of C+ or higher for transfer credits for graduate studies. The maximum number of credits that can be transferred to UBIS for graduate studies is 18 (6 3-credit courses) semester hours. Transfer credits are only granted when they apply to the student’s actual intended program of study.

International students

What do I need to study in Switzerland?
• For Undergraduate and Graduate programs, students who reside outside of the European Union will need a student Visa
• Student information if students are from USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand can be found HERE.
• Student information for NON- USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand students can be found HERE.

Industry Specific Program: What previous studies do I need for entry?
Candidates must have a University degree (Bachelor or Master) and a proficient level of English.
• For Industry Specific program (short term), students need a Schengen Visa
